Independent Strategic Land Advisory

Your land is a long-term asset. Its future depends on the strength of the land systems that support it.

“Greg has provided Bangadang Farm with practical, independent advice across food forest design, free-range poultry integration, water management, and property improvement planning. His whole-system approach has helped us think more carefully about our farm layout, make more informed decisions, and avoid unnecessary mistakes.”

Most estates evolve through hundreds of decisions. The challenge is not making each one well — it is ensuring they keep strengthening the whole property.

EDGE5 helps owners improve water security, restore soil function and strengthen natural capital.

The EDGE5 Survival Gates

Five conditions every long-term land investment must pass.

Before major works begin, EDGE5 tests whether the property has the conditions required for improvements to perform over time. A strong design is not enough if one of the systems supporting it remains unresolved.

01

Water

Can the property capture, store and distribute enough water through dry periods without creating new erosion or drainage problems?

02

Soil

Will the land retain water, support healthy plant growth and continue improving rather than losing productive capacity?

03

Labour

Can the design be maintained with the time, people and practical capacity that will actually be available?

04

Skills

Do the people responsible for the property understand how to operate, observe and adapt the systems being introduced?

05

Authority

Are ownership, priorities, budgets and decision rights clear enough to carry the plan through changing circumstances?

The gates expose weak points before they become expensive mistakes, allowing investment to be sequenced around what the property can genuinely sustain.

A Whole-of-Property Perspective

Every improvement changes the way a property functions.

  • A new road influences water movement.
  • A dam affects downstream landscapes.
  • Tree placement changes shade, water use and future management.
  • Infrastructure changes how people move across the property.

Viewed independently, each decision may appear sound. Viewed together, they determine how the estate performs.

That is where EDGE5 begins.

Independent Advice

EDGE5 works exclusively in the interests of the landowner.

I am not a contractor, developer or supplier. My role is objective advice, before significant investment.

Where earthworks are required, design is prepared by a specialist from the EDGE5 network. I can supervise the works to ensure the design is built as intended.

Areas of Advisory
01

Estate Planning

Providing the framework for future land use, infrastructure and investment.

02

Water Security

Planning water harvesting, storage and land rehydration systems that improve water security and reduce reliance on external water sources.

03

Soil Function & Natural Capital

Strengthening the biological and physical foundations of the land to improve productivity, increase water-holding capacity and build natural capital.

Begin the Conversation

Every property presents different opportunities and constraints.

The first step is a confidential discussion — your land, your objectives, and whether an EDGE5 engagement is the right fit.

Limited Engagements

I accept a limited number of private advisory projects each year, so every property receives my full attention.
