Scope of this statement
This Privacy Statement applies to personal information handled through the EDGE5 website and in direct dealings with EDGE5. EDGE5 aims to handle personal information responsibly and, where applicable, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
“Personal information” means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.
Information EDGE5 may collect
The information collected depends on how you interact with EDGE5 and may include:
- your name, email address, telephone number, organisation, position or role;
- the information contained in an enquiry, project brief, proposal request or other correspondence;
- information you provide when requesting an EDGE5 document or resource;
- records of communications and EDGE5’s dealings with you; and
- technical and usage information such as IP address, browser or device type, pages visited, referring page, approximate location and cookie or similar identifier data.
EDGE5 does not intentionally request sensitive information through this website. Please do not provide sensitive information unless it is necessary for your enquiry and you have first agreed with EDGE5 how it should be handled.
How information is collected and held
EDGE5 generally collects personal information directly from you when you submit the contact form, send an email, make a telephone enquiry, request a resource or otherwise communicate with EDGE5.
Contact form: when you submit the website contact form, the information is sent directly to EDGE5 by email. The website is not configured to retain a separate copy of the submission as a WordPress form entry.
The Executive Brief request link uses your device’s email application to prepare an email to EDGE5. Any information you include is handled through your email provider and EDGE5’s email service, rather than stored through a website form.
Some technical information is collected automatically through analytics tools, cookies and server logs. Information may be held in EDGE5 business email, business systems and devices, and by service providers supporting website hosting, email, analytics, security and information technology.
How EDGE5 uses information
EDGE5 may use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and communicate with you;
- understand a project, assess whether EDGE5 can assist, and prepare proposals or deliver agreed services;
- provide documents, resources or other information you request;
- operate, maintain, secure and improve the website and its content;
- understand website traffic and how visitors use the site;
- manage business records and professional relationships; and
- meet legal, regulatory, insurance and administrative obligations.
EDGE5 does not sell or rent personal information. EDGE5 does not use website information to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
Cookies and website analytics
EDGE5 uses analytics and measurement tools, including tools deployed through a tag-management system, to understand website use and performance. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies and may collect technical information about a visit.
Analytics information is used in aggregated or de-identified form where practical. However, technical identifiers such as an IP address or cookie identifier may still be treated as personal information in some circumstances.
You can limit or delete cookies through your browser settings and may also use privacy or tracking controls made available by your browser or device. Blocking cookies can affect how some website features operate.
Disclosure and overseas processing
EDGE5 may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to:
- website hosting, content delivery, security, email, analytics and information-technology providers;
- professional advisers, insurers and contractors who support EDGE5’s operations;
- a client or project party where you have asked EDGE5 to do so or where it is necessary for an agreed engagement; and
- government agencies, regulators, courts or other parties where required or authorised by law.
Some service providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries in which their infrastructure or support teams operate. The countries involved can change as providers update their systems. Where applicable, EDGE5 takes reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information in a way consistent with Australian privacy requirements.
Security and retention
EDGE5 takes reasonable administrative, technical and physical steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No website, email service or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this statement, to maintain appropriate business records, or to meet legal, tax, insurance and professional obligations. When information is no longer required, EDGE5 will take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it.
Access and correction
You may ask EDGE5 for access to personal information held about you, or ask for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Contact EDGE5 using the details below and provide enough information to identify the relevant records.
EDGE5 may need to verify your identity before responding. If access or correction cannot be provided, EDGE5 will explain the reason where required by law.

If your concern is not resolved, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
